As a community, we are facing a rapidly changing situation regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. As such, I am writing to update you on how Conservatoire EAST at West Suffolk College is responding.
In line with the wider Theatre industry, our Summer season did not go ahead as originally planned. We kept our students very busy though, with virtual sessions online, acting/dance/signing/technical challenges for them to complete, video and upload to our closed Facebook group, we had a fantastic month of Industry Professional Workshops via Zoom and our students created some incredible videos – PLUS, held an online event in which they successfully smashed their target, and raised £1,200 for one of our Partners, the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds.
I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that the health and well-being of our students and visitors is of the highest priority and I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding at this time. The new academic year will begin in September 2020 and we just ask for your patience in waiting to see what your timetable will look like, until much closer to the time. Please see our pages for new students here.
If you have any queries around the college’s wider response to COVID-19 please refer to the website where the information is available – www.wsc.ac.uk
